2019 House Bill 5102

Authorize additional spending in FY 2019-20 state budget

Introduced in the House

Oct. 15, 2019

Introduced by Rep. Jon Hoadley (D-60)

To authorize $355 million in additional spending in the 2019-20 state budget. This spending was part of the $947 million that Gov. Gretchen Whitmer used her line-item veto authority to remove from budgets passed by the Republican-controlled legislature; news reports indicate this bill was drafted with input from the Governor on which items she wishes to add to the budget as it was enacted. The bill would authorize additional spending on corrections programs, social service programs and more.
