2018 Senate Bill 775

Revise factors for teaching certificate

Introduced in the Senate

Jan. 25, 2018

Introduced by Sen. Hoon-Yung Hopgood (D-6)

To eliminate a requirement that a new teacher must complete four years on the job to successfully exit what is considered an initial “probationary” period. This requirement is in addition to being rated as “effective” for three years in a row, which would still be required. This is part of a Democratic teacher incentives package comprised of Senate Bills 764 to 782.
