Introduced in the Senate

Jan. 25, 2018

Introduced by Sen. Jim Ananich (D-27)

To give teachers scholarships of $1,000 per semester for being enrolled in a postgraduate degree program if they work at a school where at least 50 percent of the children come from low income households, and agree to keep working at the same school or district for at least four years after getting the degree. The bill includes a “claw-back” provisions for teachers who don’t put in the required four years after getting the degree. This is part of a Democratic teacher incentives package comprised of Senate Bills 764 to 782.
