2017 House Bill 5075

Revise end of life decision maker procedures

Introduced in the House

Oct. 5, 2017

Introduced by Rep. Triston Cole (R-105)

To establish a process for obtaining a court determination in a dispute over whether a patient advocate is acting within his or her authority or in a patient's best interest. Where a patient is unable to participate in treatment decisions, the bill would create a rebuttable presumption that it is in the patient’s best interest to continue to live.
