2017 House Bill 4696

Require report on juveniles tried as adults

Introduced in the House

June 6, 2017

Introduced by Rep. Sam Singh (D-69)

To require the state court administrator to file an annual report with the legislature on the number of juveniles under the age of 18 tried for crimes as adults. This is one of a number of bills in a broader "raise the age" juvenile justice reform effort that would no longer automatically treat minors who commit certain crimes as adults.

Referred to the Committee on Law and Justice

Nov. 28, 2018

Reported without amendment

With the recommendation that the substitute (H-1) be adopted and that the bill then pass.
