To revise the duties and standards required of a person receiving state unemployment benefits. The bill would require recipients collecting benefits to eventually accept any job that pays above the minimum wage and 120 percent of their benefit amount. It would remove eligibility for a person who was dismissed for being chronically tardy, absent or unproductive. The bill would also require beneficiaries to seek work with “employers who could reasonably be expected to have suitable work available,” rather than just ones the state unemployment bureau lists as having jobs.
