To reject a 3 percent pay increase for unionized state government employees in the 2010-2011 fiscal year (which begins on Oct. 1, 2010). Reportedly the raise will cost $77.3 million. A two-thirds majority is required to pass the measure. The House majority used parliamentary maneuvers to prevent the resolution from being "discharged" from committee and voted on by the full House.
