2008 Senate Bill 1401 / Public Act 423

Revise insurance producer license revocation

Introduced in the Senate

June 19, 2008

Introduced by Sen. Alan Sanborn (R-11)

To amend the Insurance Code to delete refusing to issue an insurance producer's license from the actions the Commissioner of Financial and Insurance Regulation may take for certain causes. The Commissioner would retain the power to place on probation, suspend, revoke, or refuse to issue an insurance producer's license or may levy a civil fine for various violations listed in the Code. This would eliminate an inconsistency in provisions of the state Insurance Code.

Referred to the Committee on Economic Development and Regulatory Reform

Reported without amendment

With the recommendation that the substitute (S-1) be adopted and that the bill then pass.
