2006 Senate Bill 1035 / Public Act 136

Expand "wood harvester" truck license discount

Introduced in the Senate

Feb. 7, 2006

Introduced by Sen. Michael Prusi (D-38)

To revise the definition of "wood harvester" in the law setting license fees for different classes of vehicle, so it would apply not just a person hauling logs or forest products, but also to hauling or transporting wood harvesting equipment (like feller-buncher machines, or logging road equipment including bulldozers). The law sets lower registration fees for farmers and wood harvesters.

Referred to the Committee on Transportation

March 1, 2006

Reported without amendment

With the recommendation that the substitute (S-1) be adopted and that the bill then pass.

March 2, 2006

Substitute offered

To replace the previous version of the bill with one that revises details but does not change the substance of the bill as previously described. The substitute specifies additional logging equipment that would be covered by the bill.
