Prohibit employment for less than specified wage

To make it unlawful to pay less than $3.40 an hour beginning on July 1, 2005, less than $4.15 beginning Jan. 1, 2006, and less than $4.60 beginning Jan. 1, 2007, to the wait staff in a restaurant or other employees who receive gratuities (tips) in the course of their employment, notwithstanding any voluntary agreement between the employer and employee. Also, to index this amount to inflation beginning Jan. 1, 2008. The current minimum wage level required for such employees is $2.65 an hour.
