To eliminate a law requiring the Department of Transportation to provide technical assistance to local transportation and planning agencies for “ridesharing” programs; require the department to contract only with private organizations on “ridesharing” programs, rather than local governments; and to eliminate a law requiring annual appropriations be made to fund ridesharing programs. "Ridesharing" can include carpooling, vanpooling, buspooling, park-and-ride lots, and public transportation.
