2004 House Bill 5953 / Public Act 364

Relief fund for military families

Introduced in the House

May 27, 2004

Introduced by Rep. Fulton Sheen (R-88)

To allow an individual to designate on his or her annual state income tax return that a contribution of $1 or more of his or her refund be credited to the military family relief fund proposed by House Bill 5954. This would have the effect of reducing the amount of a person’s tax refund. A person not receiving a refund could use his or her tax return to contribute to the fund. Also, to distribute 20 percent of the donations to veterans hospitals, and 80 percent to a Military Family Relief Fund.
