2004 House Bill 5734

Commercial forest reserve tax adjustment

Introduced in the House

March 31, 2004

Introduced by Rep. Triette Reeves (D-10)

To eliminate the decennial adjustment of the “specific” tax on land enrolled in the commercial forest reserve. The adjustment lowers the tax rate when the proportion of cutover forestland in the state decreases. The tax is levied in lieu of general property taxation on land placed in the state commercial forest reserve.
