2004 House Bill 5662

Facilitate medical savings account insurance options

Introduced in the House

March 17, 2004

Introduced by Rep. Dale Sheltrown (D-103)

To make certain contributions to a medical savings account (MSA) deductible from the state income tax. These plans combine a high deductible health insurance plan, which is much less costly than standard health insurance, with an IRA-like tax-deferred equity account owned by the employee. Routine health care expenses less than the insurance deductible amount are paid from this account.
