Enlighten me. Again, why is this necessary? The LEO's don't feel special enough now that they have to get a purchase permit like us commoners? It's more convenient for them to obtain a permit as they are already at the station and can apply when at work unlike we who must take time off from our jobs. Just another wedge between us and them
