I am not in favor of giving "special" groups people better access to firearms in more places.

I consider my life as valuable as any judge, prosecutor, or lawman.

Pistol free zones need to go away for everyone, not just a select few.

Pretty much says it all..............I wonder why the life of a retired PO is more valued than a run of the mill taxpayer?????

Law enforcement officers and corrections officers deal with criminals on a regular basis. The likelihood of them running into these same criminals on the street while off duty is greater than that of someone not in that field.

Just because someone has a cpl does not mean that they have the proper training to use a weapon in certain situations. Some people stop with the class they get when they obtain their cpl and that is not sufficient.

Passing this bill just gives an off duty law enforcement officer or corrections officer the chance to protect themselves from criminals that they have dealt with while on duty!

This does not hold up for "Gun Free Zones" The Bad guys are not to have in such a zone, so why should retired Police & Corrections Officers need a gun in one?

Everyone should have the same right for protection as recent shootings in "Gun Free Zones" show.

Are you serious??? Bad guys don't follow rules. That's why trained law enforcement and Corrections officers should be able to defend themselves and others in the event one of these bad guys present a threat!

Unless I read it wrong it seems you think that the people that pay these guys salaries should not be allowed to protect themselves?????? When seconds count LEOs are just minutes away!!!

My point exactly!!!!! Why should only one group be the only ones allowed to carry in gun free zones. As you said "Bad guys don't follow rules." Police are not always around when needed and corrections officers are watching the inmates.
