    2011 House Bill 4266 (Allow yard waste in landfills with methane capture )

    Introduced in the House on February 16, 2011, to waive the ban on landfills accepting yard waste if a facility installs a methane gas capture system

    The vote was 66 in favor, 41 opposed and 3 not voting

    Not sure if the yard clipping will decompose in a low oxygen situation like being buried in a landfill. Hope the House yes voters looked into that. If the yard clipping do not break down, then they are just using precious landfill space and this bill is just a money grab from the landfills. I hope the Senate looks into this issue before voting if the House did not.
