If you are old enough to serve your country in the armed forces, you are old enough to be armed anywhere, and at any age.

Age is not an indicator of responsibility. If you make it through boot camp in the military, chances are good that you didn't squeak through without the Drill Instructor noticing that you are not responsible to follow directions. If responsibility is not a prerequisite, and a recognized age of 21 generally being the age of maturity for the majority is to be waved, then why make the age 18 got all? Why not make it 8.
