Re: Americans for Prosperity
I have sent Congress a message, and my message to them is stop trying to destroy the middle-class by taking away their right to organize and earn a fair wage. And start taxing those who have benfited the most in a more fair manner.

Americans for Prosperity is a group fronting special interests started by oil billionaire David Koch and Richard Fink (a member of the board of directors of Koch Industries). AFP has been accused of funding astro turf operations but also has been fueling the "Tea Party" efforts. Don't you think "Fink" is an ironic name for this organization?

Re: Americans for Prosperity
This what your typical Barack Obama supporter walks to the voting booth for. These people call themselves......Americans?
Did you notice who Obama threatened?
It's incredible that 42% of Americans think that this unqualified, incompetent, dishonorable, ego-driven fraud is doing a good job. Take a moment. Admit it to yourself. You know who his supporters are. They are the people that YOU support.
From now thru November 2012 this should be required weekly or at least monthly reading BY ALL WHO VOTE!!!
Did you notice who Obama threatened when he wasn't getting his way on raising the debt ceiling?
He threatened to not pay:
- Social Security Retirees, Military Retirees, Social Security disability and Federal Retirees.
- Now...let this sink in really good -
- He did not threaten to stop payments to millions of illegal aliens (SSI)
- He did not threaten to take frivolous benefits such as Internet access away from violent inmates
- He did not offer to fire some of the thousands of unnecessary federal employees that he and his wife Micelle hired
- He did not offer to cut down on his or his wife's frivolous gallivanting around the world on Air Force One.
- He did not threaten to not pay the senators and representatives or any of their staff
- He did not threaten to take benefits away from welfare recipients
- He did not threaten the food stamp programs
- He did not threaten to not pay foreign aid
- He did not threaten to cut back on anything that involves his base voters
- The list could go on and on. He is in full political re-election mode!

Re: Americans for Prosperity
Obama, or Obama light? Judging by the 1st two primaries, that's what our choice will be on November 6th. Gingrich said if he were President that he (through executive order) would make Detroit a federal "tax free" zone for 10 years. I believe it will take something that radical to fix the city. And as Detroit goes, Michigan goes. Feb 28th is our primary, hopefully it's not too late by then.
One thing EVERYBODY has in common is that we ALL want what is best for ourselves. Tater Salad needs to realize that nobody is going to voluntarily work for less. If you can make more money and have better benefits working union, who wouldn't do it? Rush Limbaugh even said that unions aren't the enemy, union leadership is. Gypsy needs to realize that union dues are nothing more than a money laundering scheme for the Democrat party. If you don't want Granholm or Obama, you shouldn't have to involuntarily donate to their campaign. Not all Democrats are bad, not all Republicans are good. Unfortunately in this 12-year-old century we have seen the worst of the worst.
History has a way of repeating itself. Bush is like Nixon in the sense that he left office (although for different reasons) disgraced and with a low approval rating. Although McCain never got to be President, he would be the Gerald Ford. Probably better than his predecessor, but would never be given the chance due to the publics disapproval of his predecessor. Obama is clearly todays Jimmy Carter. Inexperienced and unqualified for the job but elected none-the-less just for the sake of change. And the result is the same, high unemployment, high taxes and do you remember they tried (and failed) with electric cars back in the late 70's? Instead of having to get gas on even or odd numbered plate days, or 3 gallon maximum purchases, we get to pay through the nose. Do you remember the trouble we had with the Iranians back then? The parallels are uncanny! The question is can Romney (or whoever the nominee is) be the next Reagan?! God I hope so!

freerider needs to realize that listening to Rush Limbaugh will have a detrimental effect on his IQ. He also needs to realize that money is what carries weight in Lansing and DC, and if working men and women are to be heard, unions need to spend money to support their cause. Of course they will never be able to compete with corporations, banks and Wall Street.
He also needs to realize that Reagan raised taxes in seven of his eight years in office, tripled the federal budget deficit, and gave amnesty to 3 million undocumented immigrants. If he thinks Romney, or any of the other clowns, will match that record, it's all the more reason to reelect President Obama.

FreeRider..................I am strongly against Public Unions. Why? Using my tax dollars to fund their wages, benefits, overtime and second and third homes is big NO! Privtate business unions..........OK. Why? If a person wants to join a union, be my guest. Just don't force him to pay union dues to perform a service that he is qualified and likes to do but can't because he "has to" pay Union dues.

Re: Americans for Prosperity
General Motors dealers reported 223,932 total sales in December, a 16-percent increase from a year ago for the company’s four brands. The gain was driven by solid retail sales which were 27 percent higher than a strong December a year ago. For the calendar year, total sales for GM’s four brands increased 21 percent to 2,202,927, while retail sales rose 16 percent for the year. GM’s four brands sold 118,435 more vehicles this year than the company did with eight brands in 2009, and will gain total and retail market share for the year. Gypsy likes this.

Re: Americans for Prosperity
Ted Nugent, rock star and avid bow hunter from Michigan , was being interviewed by a liberal journalist, an animal rights activist. The discussion came around to deer hunting. The journalist asked, 'What do you think is the last thought in the head of a deer before you shoot him? Is it, 'Are you my friend?' or is it 'Are you the one who killed my brother?
Nugent replied, 'Deer aren't capable of that kind of thinking. All they care about is, what am I going to eat next, who am I going to screw next, and can I run fast enough to get away. They are very much like the Democrats in Congress.'
The interview ended.

Re: Americans for Prosperity
I agree. If a private sector union wants to collectively bargain with a corporate fat-cat, knock yourself out. But public workers bargaining against the taxpayers is a whole different ballgame. They're bargaining against the taxpayers (you and I) and we have no say. Therefore it's not at all bargaining. Even FDR and George Meany said "It is impossible to bargain collectively with the government."
On a personal observation, aren't liberals suppost to be the party of tolerance? Apparently not when you have differing political opinions. I consider myself more of a Libertarian. Liberal on social issues, conservative when it comes to big gov't, following the Constitution and spending taxpayer dollars. But I have noticed that when you disagree with a liberal, they resort to name-calling, insults and personal attacks. Conservatives seem more likely to argue their point objectively. Seems to me that the real party of tolerance is contrary to the general publics perception.

Re: Americans for Prosperity
You will never believe this one but here it is on video. Bankrupt "Solyndra" who received over $525 million dollars of taxpayers money from Barack Obama and his regime are caught destroying millions of dollars worth of glass panels. This the same bankrupt company that is also asking the taxpayers to pay them bonuses. How's that Hope & Change thing working out now?

Glass is a recyclable commodity. It is probably worth more sold as scrap than at an auction, especially high quality glass such as this.

As you already know since you are one..............liberals are weasels! Proven time and again. Look at your President. He uses his Chicago thug tactics on a 70 year old Governor of Arizona. What a man you loons look up to. Pathetic! Then again, your bar isn't set exactly very high for your party of Food Stamps. How appropriate!

Re: Americans for Prosperity
When will the Unions in Detroit come to terms? Greed won't let that happen and the NYTimes knows it:
The New York Times, the super liberal newspaper that slams Fox News and all other conservative news oulets seems to want the City of Detroit to go bankrupt. Seems that the Times is finally understanding what is at stake!
