This is a reprehensible bill. The very fact that state retirees have planned for something and been promised something only to have some two term legislator looking for another state job when he's kicked out of this one, try to change the game on them in MID-Stream, is sad and should be derided. How much of the state's troubles (almost all of which can be laid at the foot of our fantastic politicians and their behavior over the past thirty years) must state workers be asked to fix?

A promise is a promise. Stop trying to balance the budget by changing the rules in the middle of the game!

Quit whining and pass the bill.  This isn't a life time job for you guys anyhow but you think your hands are in our wallets until you die.  Greed is the only word that best describes Democrats in this case.  Pathetic!  It is sad on how you voted!

This is not about the few legislators that receive these benefits. It is about the thousands of hard working state employees that have been promised something for twenty five or more years, only to have jackasses that don't know squat try to take it away from them because they think they're somehow overcompensated for their work. If you feel this way about the congresscritters, then pass the bill so that it only affects them (though it should be grandfathered in), but don't hurt the rest of us!
