all i have to say at this moment is HUGE mistake voting in the right to work bill against what the majority of the people you work for wanted. I think you have stirred up the bees nest and they won't forget.

This is a freedom of choice issue. Why should people be forced to pay union dues in order to be employed? Public sector unions end up lobbying (or buying) the legislators, who in turn owe them a favor. The legislators then will support more government workers who have to pay union dues and the taxpayers are the ones who are shafted.

This is NOT a freedom choice......you are ignorant of the facts.....yes, IF they choose to work in a union shop, they should EXPECT to pay for collective bargaining, and other key issues that help them - and the employer - to make good financial decisions concerning quality and quantity of the products along with giving people the opportunities for input in to making the product/services even better. Research has shown that in R-T-W states, the salaries/benefits are DOWN along with the quality of the products/services produced. And, highly qualified people are LEAVING those states for better wages/benefits - which you obviously don't care about. These legislatures in Michigan have NOT ONCE done ANYTHING to HELP the people, but ALWAYS are passing legislation that takes money OUT OF THE economy, denies quality of living they've earned, denies veteran's health care, broke promises, LIED to us, BETRAYED us, drives us DEEPER in to poverty, and are nothing but SCUM republicans bought by the Koch Bro. and other unethical, immoral and corrupt CEO's.

Excuse me for wanting to have my union to work for me. I should have the right to expect from my union what my union expects from the business. It should take less from my checks, represent me well at in case I have an accident, and why should the boss of my union make more then business owner or me for that matter. I thought unions were about the little man, not the union boss of the little man. If you aren't for the little guy then you are not actually supportive of unions.

You're complaining about corrupt CEOs. I don't like crony capitalism or corrupt CEOs either. But unions are big business, too! And they are really big lobbyists. The taxpayer pays taxes. Part of the tax revenue is used to hire federal, state, and local employees. Those employees pay union dues, which are then used to lobby for democrats and liberal agendas. So the conservative taxpayer is essentially funding lobbyists to support Democrats and liberal causes. Is that fair? With right-to-work, conservative workers could opt out of the union and use the union dues for whatever they want to.

When you force someone to pay membership dues in order for that person to be hired, and those dues are used to promote an agenda that goes contrary to their beliefs and that person must keep quiet about special favors given to local union executives the system is broken. Now when those in government unionize, their agenda is to keep pressure on legislators by poring millions into special proposals which weaken or nullify any attempts to reign in costs then the time must come to send a clear message. Senate Bill 116 removes forced dues and opens up a clear path for individual workers to choose between supporting freely their union or not. If this seems like a plot to destroy unions then that means most would rather not support them in the first place.

There is no difference in citizens paying taxes and workers represented by a union paying union dues. If Snyder thinks workers reaping the benefits provided by union representation shouldn't pay dues to that union, then he must think citizens of Michigan enjoying the benefits of our roads, schools, etc. need not pay state taxes.

Gypsy, It's sort of like going to the mall and buying $1000 worth of merchandise at Sears. The unions say even if you don't shop at Sears and don't buy the merchandise, you still have to pay the $1000. Freedom to choose is what's at stake here.

Not one Democrat voted for free choice in employment, HB 4054, known as "Right to Work." Not one, because they got their marching orders from the high command and they followed them, goose-stepping all the way. The unions provide them with immense power and money, and thuggery when necessary. It's an offer they cannot refuse. It's Chicago style politics. Don't forget that Sander Levin, Carl Levin and Debbie Stabenow have had long and profitable political careers working for special interests like unions, who command a lot of political clout despite a membership that is a small minority of Michigan's workforce. Sander, Carl and Debbie are not free market advocates. If getting reelected requires screwing 90% of Michigan to get special favors for their friends like unions, they will do it every time while they throw you and me under the bus. Right to Work is a jobs and economic recovery bill, and they voted against it! With friends like this, we don't need enemies!

I know one sure way to distroy a perfectly viable busines, and that is to unionize it. Union benefits are not sustainable, the more that retire the fewer workers there are to suport the previous generation. And public unions eventualy run up defisits. So we should look at this bill as, oh, lets just say a form of " Sustainable Development " (sarc)

When my Aunt received "Home Help" from the state for being mentally diabled, the  state check always deducted a $10.00 Union Due.   It never said which Union it was.  For all the the years she had received that check monthly to pay her caregiver, I wonder what slush fund it went into.......
