Introduced in the House on February 26, 2009, to mandate that an employer must grant paid leave to employees when a child less than one year old is adopted by an employee. Under current law the mandate applies for the birth of an employee's child

 More anti-business legislation.  The state should not be mandating paid leaves.

I would think the pro-life people would be in favor of this bill, being as it could make it easier for couples to adopt children, thus giving homes to children of mothers who chose life over abortion.

I would also think fiscal conservatives would favor this bill, as it could lower the number of children now under state care.

I myself see this as a family value issue, therefore support this legislation.

Of course you do.  Your past opinions have shown your disregard for the rights of private business owners.  I think business owners should have the right to establish their own policies and employees should have the right to work where they choose and for whoever will hire them.  Free choice is good, coercion is bad.

I do not disregard the rights of private business owners, nor do I disregard the rights of families. I do put the rights of the individual, and thus the family, at a higher priority than business when a couple decides to adopt a child. That act has much more value to society than making money for a business owner for a short time. I must admit, being adopted myself has some bearing on my opinion.
