I don't know about the left, but as far as I'm concerned, if we have to go in debt, I'd rather it be for money spent in this country.

what????? where on earth did that come from? all three car companies are 'outsourced' outside of our country. almost nothing is 'made in america' anymore. what are we supposed to spend this indebtedness on?

You said, "all three car companies are 'outsourced' outside of our country."

I said they provide almost two million jobs in this country. They being the Detroit auto companies.

and that keeps you from being mad at the current president how? especially since those three (or at least two of the three) are failing and needing to be bailed out again.

Why would I be mad at the "new" president because those auto companies are failing, and he sees merit in saving them? That's one of the reasons I voted for him.

Aren't you mad, as I am, at the former president for the burnout of our economy on his watch? A majority of the country is.

i'm mad at the people in the businesses that burned out our economy. i'm mad at the regulators in government asleep at the switch. i'm particularly mad at the government regulators who promised that the last round of 'reforms' would keep this kind of thing from happening again. the president didn't do anything to burn this economy out. bush didn't cause the auto industry to fail, the auto industry did. it's wounds are self inflicted. bush didn't do anything to cause mortgages to fail, the mortgage companies did. bush didn't do anything to drive the prices of houses down, the people buying them did. they quit paying the higher prices. the bottom fell out of a market. it happens all the time. look what happens to gas every time we stop buying for a few days at the pump.

the answer to this 'crisis' is not to let the government buy up all the businesses, but to get government to stand out of the way while business goes about doing business.

So by your reasoning, that is Bush just being an innocent bystander, didn't do anything for the eight years he was in office, how could anyone be mad at Obama, even if things don't get better?

no, not an innocent bystander. but certainly not the 'mastermind' of the collapse. unlike the current president who pushed his plan through congress.

see the difference? of course not.

Re: will the left be mad at the president for increasing the debt?

Over the years, the nation has built a lot of debts from other country. Not surprising because of the global crisis we are facing. But it is so sad to hear that there are country's who have go over the United States of America. Maybe what the economists say is true. We are far from recovery. But I think all of this shouldn't be blamed for the current president because ever since, America already has debts from other countries. Maybe I just happens that during his term, there are lots of ups and downs that have came to the government. What is more important right now is that they should be reunited for good.
