I think this is a very bad idea. While Walter Reuther is an excellent representative of the State of Michigan, the National Statuary Hall Collection highlights people that helped or were related to the founding of a state. Very few are contemporary. Additionally, while I understand the importance of unions in the state, it is only one element of our state's history. Why should it be highlighted any more than the auto pioneers, the lumber barons, or something related to great lakes shipping. Keep the statues that relate to all Michiganders.
