    2008 Senate Bill 1380 (Authorize $40 million in energy technology business subsidies )

    Introduced in the Senate on June 12, 2008, to authorize spending up to $45 million of “21st Century Jobs Fund” money on grants and subsidies to energy technology projects undertaken by for-profit companies selected by state economic development officials. At least 50 percent of these “centers of energy excellence” grants would have to be used for matching federal or international grants

    The vote was 35 in favor, 1 opposed and 2 not voting

So, while 25,000 festivalgoers were jamming to Snoop Dogg, only about 200 of the "older set" -- those over 30 -- attended a Think Tank discussion Friday afternoon on global warming at the Double JJ Wagon Wheel. "If you are under 30, this is your world," said L. Hunter Lovins, a world-reknown academic, social activist and environmentalist. "You are making it up as you go.
