Introduced in the Senate on May 28, 2008, to extend from two years to three years the time limit on a community voting on a proposed charter after voting to incorporate as a village. Current law also limits the number of attempts to adopt a village charter at three. If no charter is adopted then the village does not become incorporated but reverts to its previous status a an unincorporated part of a township
