    Ban Salt!!

Has anyone seen the Sylvester Stallone movie "Demolition Man". Anything that was bad for you was illegal. Maybe the government should ban the use of salt and sugar. Maybe they should take away all of our privacy and watch over us because we're apparently to incompetent to make decisions for ourselves. I can't wait for November.

    Elect Jim Gould

What else do you think that our elected officials have to do. The state is only going broke. the schools are tanking, our property values are falling, the unemployment rate is raising and the pay scale is falling while taxes and fee's continue to climb. Not to mention that business and citizens continue to leave the state. ( What else do our elected officials have to do except present bills like this! ) Check me out www.jimgould.org

    Where are the Childrens Caregivers?

Where are the adults in these childrens lives that the state has to mandate that children not have access to lighters???

    Ignorance

What people don't realize is that some children don't know any better, either because they haven't been introduced to the dangers of lighters, or they've been taught that they are ok. But they are dangerous, and children do play with them, and get injured, and die most of the time the situation is severe. The number of deaths a year caused by toy like lighters are way too many to be able to keep them selling. I'm 17, and I've already been severely been burned, and I can tell you that it is not a good experience. It is the reason for my involvment in this topic, but it was a tough time, and I can't stress it enough that other people are going through the same thing, every day. The ban of toy like lighters will help these injuries and deaths go down.

    Get Back To School

and let the adults run the show. If you want government to make you perfactly safe then you will be locked up in a padded room. Your post is a great example of why the children shouldn't be allowed to vote until at least 21 years old. Lets ban baseball bats, golf clubs, swings, slides, roller blades, roller skates, stairs, bathtubs, jumpropes, bicycles, wagons, tricycles, and a million other things. Maybe we can just park the little darlings in front of the tv, that will keep them safe, fat and ignorant. Oh Wait, we tried that with the last generation, better let them start riding bikes again.

    Get a Life

People like you are exactly why things that need to be banned, can't, because you give ridiculous examples like that. I didn't say that everything was dangerous for you, not even close. What i stated that NOVELTY LIGHTERS, something that really is DANGEROUS, should be banned.

This is quite ridiculous. I really don't know what else to say. I hadn't realized until now that novelty lighters were such an issue.
