    Great Idea

now the little kids can walk past the perv's house in the dark on their way to the relocated bus stop. Do you idiots ever think about the consequences of this dribble you keep coming up with to try to show us how hard you are working? Please stop. Take a vacation. Go play solitare, just stop trying to help us, You ain't smart enough.

Have the sex offender's move away from the school bus stops. Lets remember who the bad people are. Its not the school kids

    What will this accomplish?

What is this possibly going to accomplish? Are you going to include a yard sign to distinguish the home of a sex offender? Why wouldn't a pedophile WALK DOWN TO THE NEW BUS STOP? And I did say pedophile, not the guy who had sex with his willing, but under-age girlfriend. This is just more blustering by lazy lawmakers who want us to think they're tough by passing empty legislation. Just say you're making hard for those perverts (as the above clueless poster said) to even exist and we'll all sleep better at night. Just sleep with one eye open because that perv/pedophile is likely a member of your family or close circle of friends. Before we pass anymore feel-good legislation, lets start with revising the sex offender registry to distinguish between pedophiles and all the others required to register, like 7 & 8 year olds in Howell.

    legislative ignorance

enough is enough. the facts are out there and have been for a long enough time, to not know that 90%+ children are molested by family or friends of the family, 3 to 5% of sex offenders reoffend and 95% of sex offenses are committed by first time offenders, to come up with this kind of ignorant legislation. there is a clear distinction between sex offenders and child molesters. 500 ft from a bus drop or 1000ft from a school makes our kids any safer shows we ignore facts, shows no courage in legislation and that feel good legislation is only about getting votes. why aren't murders, drug offenders and drunk drivers put on a registry? the sex offender registry allows you to know where they sleep at night not what they do during the day. it is nothing more than a placebo affect. a residency law has not stopped one crime.

    NO HOPE FOR THE INNOCENT

This is so disappointing. Why doesn't our legislature look at the statistics of who commits sex offender crimes, 95% of sex offender crimes are committed by a family member? Why can't our legislature and our judical system get anything right? Votes, votes, votes is all they care about, not about protecting the innocent. Stop playing games and get it right. Prisons are filled with innocent young men who have been convicted of sex offenses by disturbed women who will do anything to get attention and what they want. Not every other person is a sex offender as the register states. This is absolutely ridiculous to live such an injustice and our legislatures only make things worse by continuing to screw up. RESIGN OR HELP US DON'T CONTINUE HURTING INNOCENT PEOPLE! GET IT RIGHT FOR ONCE!

    What if they live there?

Check the records and see how many students LIVE at the same residence as a registered offender !! So we make students walk (in the dark) away from their own home? Thank you for more useless legislation.

    I really hope

I really hope they stop slaping out this feel good legislation.I mean I wish someone in Lansing would have the courage and intelligence to do some research and come up with some common sense legislation.I mean one time offenders who did something when they where young and drunk like tell a woman she had someting on her shirt and then when she leaned foward and they touched her breast.I mean granted this is wrong a people should be punished for crimes like this but I don't think it warrants a 25 year sentence of public humiliation and living, working, and schooling restrictions.I mean there theres has to be a appeals process and a tier system where the process entails honest evauluation I mean the guy above was slapped with a 4th degree csc and some 40 year old guy getting caught having oral pleasures with a 15 year old girl gets the same 4th degree csc obviously the first guy is a far less threat to society if any at all while the second guy should be kept tabs on for 10 years or so.But an evaluation system that involved more than just looking at the charge and looked at the person snd the nature of the crime to determine what if any placement he or she needs to be on the offenders list.

    Plus

I would like to add this is gonna create more problems and hassales than it solves the mess we have now is because of everyones lack of boldness. I mean if it says sex offender they just rubber stamp no matter what and these laws are destoying way more families lives than it could even come close to saving. The lives of the very kids they are aiming to protect. They are not gonna find how much dammage these laws have done mentally to the spouses and children of these people until it is to late we will have a generation of kids with low self worth and self esteem for being ridiculed there whole life for something they didn't even have nothing to do with what a shame.
