Introduced in the House on February 26, 2008, the House-passed version of the Fiscal Year (FY) 2008-2009 Department of Agriculture budget. This would appropriate $104.9 million in gross spending, compared to $109.4 million, which was the FY 2007-2008 amount enrolled in 2007, and $102.9 million proposed by Gov. Granholm. Of this, $34.4 million will come from the general fund (funded by actual state tax revenues), compared to the FY 2007-2008 amount of $31.2 million. The extra money proposed by the House is for county fair horse race tracks, and for subsidized woodland management services for landowners
