    Color Blindness

Ah, yes, yet another solution in search of a problem. There is no need for every enrolling kindergartener to be screened for color blindness. First of all, it is not an overwhelming problem. I have been teaching for 15 years and I have had only 1 color blind child. Secondly, any good kindergarten teacher would be able to figure out who isn't learning his/her colors and suggest a screening to the parents on an as needed basis. There is no need to screen everyone.

    once again....

And who will be paying for this new mandate? School districts (who are stretched already with other unfunded mandates) or parents (who are stretched trying to make ends meet) - which one is it? If this is so important I think there ought to be a funding source included in the bill.
