Stop the switches, raids and accounting tricks. The original tax shift was an accounting trick to begin with. Now the state is taking even more money from local government rather than fixing the problems in Lansing! Stop it! All this means is that counties will run through that "restricted fund" faster. What heppens then? Will the legislature return revenue sharing to the counties? There's no one in Lansing who was around when revenue sharing was created. Local governments lost taxing authority to the state in exchange for revenue sharing. Supposedly, centralized collection would be more efficient. All that has happened is money that would have been spent locally is now being sent to Lansing. Into the bottomless pit!
