    God bless George

He wants to tax the hell out of the people and the citizens of Detroit must love him because he was elected! Do they pay taxes?

    What the heck?

Perhaps Rep Cushenberry is so enlightened with this proposal that he has figured out a way to generate tax revenue from the middle class and lower middle class without hurting their businesess. Or perhaps he was smoking something when he came up with this idea.

    WCTaxpayer

You have to be kidding. That is the only sector that is creating jobs in this state. Are you trying to drive them out of Michigan too? As head of the House Apropriation Committee he will only have less to apropriate. Bad move!

Is this any way to "Stimulate the economy?"

So let's see... if I run a business that is in ANY service sector, I would come to Michigan and create jobs WHY??? I already provide services in Michigan, and because of our horrible economy, I've got half the work that I did in 2001, and I'm making about a third less per job to boot! And now you want your HAND in my pocket? How about I give you the peace sign... and let one finger fall down? This is a plain stupid idea at a time when our economy is the worst in the nation. It will kill tourism, lose MORE jobs, deflect new companies from coming into Michigan and kick those who are lucky enough to still HAVE a job and are sticking it out here right in the wallet. We really need to elect people who have taken at least a basic economics class.

    Stop It You Morons

How about we fire all you guys and save the money? It will even help out the global warming hoax by stopping all that hot air from being released. Go play solitaire, we don't want you to do anything, don't even show up, the people that elected you won't even notice and if they do they'll be happy that you're not screwing us out of more of our money.

    Don't panic

Just consider the source that proposes this idiotic bill(tax).

    Yet again!

The 2% service tax was defeated earlier this year but this must not matter to the Hon. Rep. Cushingberry who has also introduced legislation to raise the income tax to 4.6% from 3.9%! Sen. Tupac Hunter would like the City of Detroit Income Tax to remain at 2.5% & 1.75% despite the law which authorizes only 2.0% & 1.0%. Are the concepts of regressive taxation, unemployment, negative economic growth, and population loss that difficult for these people to understand? I don't suppose an explanation would do any good. Their goal must be to bankrupt both the City of Detroit and the State of Michigan. Does the word "STUPID" mean anything to you guys?
