    i see this as a

MINOR concession to close an OPEN LOOPHOLE in the existing law. what SHOULD happen is that we ABOLISH registration in all forms, along with all permits, including PERMIT TO PURCHASE, and PERMIT TO CARRY A CONCEALED WEAPON. the FREE and UNENCUMBERED EXERCISE OF OUR RIGHTS has been taken away from us.

    B.S. Alert!

The laws regarding how a pistol is to be transported are already in effect. Registration, a.k.a. "safety inspection" needs to go. It wastes the time of both police and citizens. It solves NO crimes. It has never prevented a firearm accident. (A true safety inspection would require firing the weapon, breaking it down and inspecting the parts under a microscope and other measures. This is the firearm equivalent of a VIN number check! Bad guys aren't going to bring their guns in for an inspection. All of this makes inspections a waste of time. It is time to put "safety inspections" into the dustbin of history.

Somebody don't understand what the law already is!!!!

Drop this bill and adopt H4099 which makes more sense and costs the state a lot less money.

    You Are Missing The Point

this ain't about "safety" any more than most laws are. Everything they do is "for your safety" or my favorite "it's for the children". The government schooled sheeple/idiots lap this up. It's about control and getting your gun on a list that they can use when they decide to take them away.

    i see that

neither constitution is worth a hoot here. neither the state or the federal constitution is being followed AT ALL in this state. so much for your rights as a 'true blue michigander'. they don't exist. the unions took them away by forcing the idiots to vote democrat.
