    idle time

Time would be better spent working to solve our state's problems, rather than printing prays on our license plates.

Maybe getting back to this country's original ideals IS the most important business at hand. Let's put it out there.

    More please...

I support this proposal, and any others like it they care to dream up. The more time they fritter away on relative trivia such as this, the less time they have to erode our liberties and empty our wallets.

    Read the Names

The names on this bill are the important element. Theocrats one and all - democracy, free speech, religious freedom are abhorrent to these jihadists. Vote them out before they render you and your personal beliefs illegal.

    encouraged

I am encouraged by most of the replies to this bill. If there is anything we don't need, it's more theocracy in this world. Maybe the one commenter approving this bill should check out the history books and they would find that "In God We Trust" was first used as a government slogan decades after the founding of our nation.

    Sen. Switalski "no vote explanation"

Senators Switalski and Whitmer, under their constitutional right of protest (Art. 4, Sec. 18), protested against the passage of Senate Bill No.640. Senator Switalski's statement, in which Senator Whitmer concurred, is as follows: You know, normally, I do trust in God; it's a practice of mine. You know, I figured if it's on a dollar bill and on the coins, maybe it can go on a license plate too. But I have consistently taken a philosophical position that we should not be doing all these license plates, no matter how good the cause or the reasoning. You know, the license plates are there to identify a car. The State Police say that having the proliferation of plates makes it more difficult to do that. So I have consistently said that we should not be doing this.
