Introduced in the House on July 10, 2007, to amend a law that prohibits TVs in vehicles that can be viewed by the driver except for ones that allow monitoring the rear view when backing up, so that it instead allows a display that will "enhance or supplement the driver's view." The bill would also allow additional exceptions for emergency vehicles, including explicitly allowing the use of such monitors with recording equipment

Is this really a problem? Do we really need a new law that will try to regulate human behavior? Enough of the goofy stuff already to make people think that our legislature really spends time in deep thought and investigation to come up with this kind of goofy stuff.

Particularly teenagers get distracted by music on iPods and radios. We should have a law that requires all radios to immediately switch to "The Safety Dance" by Men Without Hats when the car is moving over 12 miles an hour. Remember, it's for the children.

Why not just limit cars to 12 mph? That would be safer yet.

I think this is aimed at people watching the TV while going down the road. I have a closed circuit TV at the rear of my motorhome. This is left on while driving because I usually have a "toad" back there and that is the only way I can see what is going on. Is this going to be illegal in the future? I usually travel a little over 12 mph.
