I'm more impressed that Representative Acciavitti introduced HB4759 that would eliminate such zones for all CPLs. Why just police? Bad things happen to good people every day. Enough with the favoritism! If a CPL is trusted with a firearm on the streets, in parks and other everyday settings, then they should be trusted in the so-called "no-carry" zones. (Only the law abiding obey those rules anyway. Why give criminals the upper hand?)

Here come the band aids. Reminds me of the miriad of Pop up Tax fixes introduced to fix a broke system. I like having to pull over and disarm myself to visit the Post Office. Now that is a dangerous place.

This bill ought to be unnecessary. We should just pass Rep. Acciavatti's HB 4759, which eliminates all prohibited zones for every CPL licensee. fairly or equally because the liberal thinks he is better than you. he thinks he knows what is best for you. he thinks he is smarter than you. he thinks that you only exist to pay for what he can get the government to provide him.

Unfortunatly some police officers are criminals. Even with the "protect your own" some get convicted. Do you really want them to have the feeling of impunity befor they get caught? I do not. There are also those who just had a bad day/week/year, do you want them armed in a bar or anywhere else alcohol is served?

them armed in bars. they ALREADY ARE armed in bars, in case you haven't noticed. this bill is about having concealed weapons permit holders able to carry guns in courthouses, schools, the post office, and any other designated 'gun free zone'. it's not a good idea to bring a gun to the bar, and i don't condone it, but it HAPPENS. it IS a good idea to take your gun with you shopping, and not have to lock it up in your car to do your day to day chores like picking up the mail from the post office. i personally believe that no permit should be required for a law abiding citizen to carry a concealed weapon. the criminals don't need one, why do i? liberty is a good thing. exercising your right to keep and bear arms is a good thing.

I would much rather be in a bar where the good guys are armed than to be a sitting duck while drinking a few beers.

This bill perpetuates the concept that, somehow, a class of law-abiding citizenry who happen to be government agents are better than the rest of the law-abiding citizenry. Of course, that is a bogus idea and, really, we need to work to get rid of all vestiges of the culture of superiority in government. Honorable Acciavatti's HB 4759 is a model for that . . . far better than this fatally flawed bill.
