How about making the state accountable, period?

I would like to see legislation that will allow anyone to petition the state, as provided under the US Bill of Rights, which are God-given and cannot be taken away by anyone, including the state. I am fed up with the way people are treated by state employees, county employees, and municipal and local employees. And I am fed up with the Department of Human Services especially, for I don't think anyone who doesn't want Medicaid should be forced to accept it, like Genesee Health Plan is trying to force people to do. They are trying to force people to sigh up for Genesee Health Plan A, which is under Medicaid, because they don't want to fulfill their responsibility to cover mental health. Not everyone wants to accept welfare as a way of life. What needs to happen is if any state or other government employee treats a client badly, they should be held accountable. And the Health and Human Services Hearings should be put out of business, because there is no way anyone can get a fair hearing there. It should be put in open court instead, where at least someone will have a neutral site and at least half a chance at a fair hearing. Also, the whole thing about Recipient Rights in the State Department of Mental Health is a joke. They almost always rule in favor of the mental health agency. These agencies can use the medication people need to force them to do just about anything the agencies want, and that's unacceptable to me. It's time to force these employees, if not the governments they represent, accountable in open court for their misconduct. Maybe if they are faced with losing a few of these, they will clean up their act.
