Wow, good one from a Democrat this time...

Senator Hardiman gets it! Child abuse is a CRIME! Have Law Enforcement investigate it.

    he's submitting this law

so that you FEEL BETTER about child abuse being investigated, not that THEY WILL ACTUALLY INVESTIGATE IT. there is a world of difference.

    Well done...so far...

I feel I must commend the Senator for introducing this piece of legislation, but I must, also, insist that he continues with establishing, or rather, reforming the judicial process. Once a case is referred to law enforcement, the question must be asked if law enforcement will conduct the investigation, and if they do, will law enforcement work in concert with case workers. The furtherance of inquiry will consist of challenges to the legislature, pertaining to: (1)assignment of criminal charges; (2)parallel jurisprudence of family court with traditional courts; (3)the right to formal discovery, and; (4)constitutional rights of due process and right to redress grievance. This bill is just the beginning to bring accountability and transparency to the state's child welfare system. Perhaps, Michigan may entertain the idea of making dependency court proceedings open. I look forward to more legislative activity revitalizing and recognizing the rights of citizens guaranteed under the United States Constitution and the Constitution of the State of Michigan. how about we

make it a felony to leave work THAT DAY without reporting the abuse? why give some bureucrat 24 hours to do something that should take a few minutes, and for which other activities of the day can wait.

    Is CPS above the Law?

Two weeks ago my 17 year old son was disaplined. Father call CPS reports child abuse. CPS worker decides on her own to change child home. Nyela Hooks CPS worker does not report to the local law enforcement agency within 24 hours when she received this allegation of child abuse or severe physical injury. The CPS worker accuses custodial parent of harassing police and emergency worker two days after his disapearence. The father violated MCL 750.350a(2002) for two weeks and nothing is done. Is CPS above the law? Who holds these workers accountable? I requested documentation: date, time, photographer and location. Medical, Police facility where allegation was documented. Confirmation of the date, time of arrival and when the CPS worker visually saw and had contact with the child? I was told I was not allowed to have this information until the completion of her report. Nothing has been filed with the court to change the child custody order. I was told by the supervisor they are not held to the letter of the law. I have pictures from December 2006 when my ex husband assaulted my son we did file a police report. I told my son to wait 24 hours and think about such a serious action. He did and when he attempted to press charges they denied him his right. Father told the police he was being forced to press charges, nothing was done. The father truly harmed him. CPS said he was almost 18 so they could not get involved. No services offered. Is there anyone with integrity keeping watch over CPS? Is there anyone to protect the rights of the pure at heart. Is there anyone to come along side this single mother who is being bullied and pushed around by CPS and those who are misusing their power?

    Proper Investagation

Proper investigations should not include those parties that are not a party to the action and whom there is no present relationship nor has been a relationship of 7 years. How can a person be consider a good source when they hold contintued anger toward the one being investagated. The investagator does not have the ability to preform her job properly this workers views have been tantied.
