In early January a radio news broadcast mentioned that this issue was one of the top two issues the new House of Representatives would be pushing for. At the time, it occurred to me how foolish this was, especially considering the current economic conditions in Michigan and the Governors push for "high tech" jobs like...medical and pharmaceutical research. It may be a coincidence that shortly after this bill was introduced Pfizer announced cuts of over 2,500 "high tech" jobs in Michigan. However, one cannot help but think that the powers that be at Pfizer considered the increasingly hostile climate in Michigan, including this bill, when they decided where to make cuts.
