Introduced in the House on September 14, 2006, to require the Department of Community Health, the Office of Financial and Insurance Services and the Department of Human Services, to establish a program to provide for the financing of long-term care through a combination of private insurance and Medicaid. They would be required to provide incentives for individuals to ensure against the costs of providing for their long-term care needs; provide a mechanism for individuals to qualify for coverage of the cost of their long-term care needs under Medicaid without first having to substantially exhaust their resources; and encourage the pursuit of private initiatives
