    Peter-Paul Principle

Borrowing must be repaid. If you cannot fund future medical coverage for governmental employees, don't promise it to them in contracts. Very few real employers continue to offer post-retirement benefits, and those who do, are not doing well financially. Funding benefits that we cannot afford to pay today with borrowed money tomorrow, is risky, and not warrented.

    Why?

Nothing in life is guaranteed except death and taxes. I don't want to be taxed to death to support this one.

    I don't get

healthcare benefits for life! Why should state employees?

    I don't think so

Why should taxpayers pay for the promises of others? This would only encourage others to do the same. Why should we borrow money that would put our children and us in debt? This is a ridiculous bill and you (Sen. Nancy Cassis) even more ridiculous for introducing it.

    I agree

The sums of money we're talking about are astounding! Oakland is borrowing $500 million then crossing their fingers in the hopes that their fund managers don't blow it. I think the gambling bug has gotten out of hand!
