2005 House Bill 5508 (Revise gas station air pollution requirements )

Introduced in the House on December 13, 2005, to require the fuel sold in Southeast Michigan to have a different formula that will reduce the evaporation of fuel and so help the region to meet clean air standards imposed by the federal government. Also, to eliminate regulations that require gas stations in certain areas to have “stage two” vapor recovery systems, which require special nozzles and coaxial hoses at each gasoline pump that capture vapors from a vehicle's fuel tank and routes them to the station's storage tanks during refueling

The vote was 105 in favor, 2 opposed and 1 not voting

(House Roll Call 131 at House Journal 23)

Meeting air quality is good, why did you get rid of special gas covers?

Didn't they help with air quality? IS this about reducing gas prices?

Could we get more leadership, please, on CO2 neutrality.

Thanks. Model it. Teach it in our classrooms, maybe.
