This bill creates yet another way to pay overpayed judges and other beauraucrats that work in our court systems. It's just like the seatbelt ticket garbage! There is no need to ban cell phone use in the passing lane. QUIT TAKING OUR MONEY WITH YOUR STUPID LAWS!

... ban the use of cell phones weighing more than 190 grams while held in the non-dominant hand of any driver on record of having suffered chicken pox at any time in his/her life, while operating an SUV having a standard deviation in tire pressure exceeding 3 psi in the passing lane, or while operating any vehicle within 500,000 feet of any public school, daycare facility, or nursing home. Violation = $100,000,000 fine.

It seems rather useless to ban cell phone use on the HIGHWAYS in just the passing lane. What really needs to be done is ban all use of a hand-held cell phone on the HIGHWAYS in any traffic lane, as long as the vehicle is moving at any rate of speed. In other words, park the vehicle off the roadway if a call needs to be made or received!

QUIT TAKING OUR MONEY WITH YOUR STUPID LAWS! This is a great example of the need for a part time legislature. They get paid for full time work and have nothing to do so they come up with idiocy like this. NO MORE!!!!!

What the legislature really should do is pass a law that would clamp down on vehicles "cruising" in the left (or passing) lane on divided highways. Michigan drivers have some of the worst "lane discipline" in the nation.
