Introduced in the Senate on June 22, 2005, to increase from $40 to $60 per year the license fee for a residential builder or residential maintenance and alteration contractor, salesperson, or branch office (under current law the license fee drops to $30 after Sept. 30, 2007); impose a new $65 code book fee payable every three years; and use part of the increased revenue to enforce regulations on contractors, and part of it to provide training for contractors on state regulations required for licensure.
