    Make the schools safe first

What if students are afraid of going to school because their teacher harasses them and allows other students to harass them because of their disability? Nobody protects the student. Not the State. Not the Office for Civil Rights. Some students have no choice but to avoid school; so you’re going to further harass the parent? Enforce nondiscrimination and make schools safe for all students and you won’t have such a problem getting the kids to school.

    Track Students

--IRONY ON-- Hey, let's use that new RFID techology. Implant each kid with these remote chips so we can monitor their activity at any time! The state should want this because: 1. Decrease truancy. 2. Stop abduction of children. 3. Monitor driving speed. 4. Increase taxes to implant chips. 5. New boards to devise rules for chips. 6. Complete control of sheep.. er. citizens. 7. Automate attendance tracking for school funding. 8. Check which girls are going to abortion clinics. 9. Help monitor new mandatory volunteer hours. 10. Monitor parent-child interation time for socialist services neglect cases. 11. Make legislators feel like they are doing something useful. --IRONY OFF--

Protection for Children with Medical Disabilites under the Truancy Law

We need to protect our children that have medical problems and cannot attend school on a regular basis due to one medical problem or anthother that is chronic and under doctors care. Recently I had to send my son to school under the truancy probation against doctors advice because the school filed truancy charges on him and because of poor representation from his appointed attorney he was found guilty and given open ended probation. My son is being punished for a medical disibility.

    Medical Issues

Have you looked into a Section 504 for your son? If he has a diagnosed medical condition, a Section 504 should offer him some accommodations. Contact either the psychologist or teacher consultant at his school for help with this. If they can't assist you, contact the special education director for the district. You may also, if his medical condition warrants, want to look into homebound instruction.
