Yes! Our school is near a train track and inhaler use is INCREDIBLE

It even takes away from their instruction every time they have to go to office to take it.

    go to the office?

if it is a prescribed medication, and possibly needed to save the kid's life... why does he have to go to the office to take it? oh.. i know... he'll sell it to some kid with a.d.d. for a dollar a hit...

? It's locked up and has to be signed/dated/time

Guess so another kid didn't take it accidentally. You know policies, law. Haven't had anyone so severe they couldn't wait the 60 seconds it took to walk to office and open a filing cabinet.

    wow...

why is it we have to wait for "little johnnie" to turn blue? i somehow don't think that bus exhaust and "train emmissions" are the real problem... how is little johnnie ever going to drive on the same roads with the busses? oh the humanity...

Sure if a doctor or parent asked that Johnny caring it at all times

...it wouldn't be a problem. We are reasonable people. We care about children.

    doctor/parent

ok, the DOCTOR wrote the prescription because he wants the kid to HAVE the medication. the PARENT gave it to the kid to take to school. the SCHOOL took it away from the kid and put it in a locker....WHY????? I had to go to school to give my kid tylenol when she was having her period because the school wouldn't let her take the ones I GAVE HER to take to school from home. so much for the doctor/parent thing... if you care about kids, lets put some common sense, not common misconceptions, to use.

As teachers we'd like to just give it to her. Sorry.

Our hands are tied on that one. Please consider Motrin. Works better. Just have a docotor prescribe it. She can go down to the office and take it any time she wants, right? Maybe 800 mg. Certainly don't want our females suffering! Can't learn in pain. Seriously, though, I can't give them a cough drop without docotors note and a trip to the office.

    my point exactly...

sometimes you can't give it to them even WITH a doctors note... and that's sad... by the way, thanks for the advice, but she's on her own now...
