    Chewed Any Car Wheels Lately?

To safeguard Michigan citizens from the threat of lead poisoning from ingesting car parts, Rep Brater (D-Ann Arbor) wants to outlaw the sale of lead wheel-balancing weights (HB 1169). I wasn't aware that anyone was suffering from the bad effects of gnawing on their car wheels, but I'm relieved that our legislature is on guard against the problem just the same. I'm not sure how we'll balance our car wheels should this bill be enacted, but if it is, our wheels won't be the only thing that's unbalanced.

    Gnawed on treated lumber?

Legislators, Thank you for your concern about the health and safety of my family. We don't eat treated lumber, and lead wheel-balancing weights are not a part of our diet. Let the buyer beware and responsible.

    What a great idea.

Using a metal that in its pure form is either too brittle to be used as a weight, or will rust away. Because our illustrious "representation" can always seem to find the time to propose assinine legislation such as this, can someone please tell me why we DO NOT have a part time legislature yet???
