Hey lawmakers, how about backing off the usual game of shilling for special interests (in this case, auto body shops who want less competition), and letting the market and customers sort out which insurance companies and policies to choose. Guess what: The market is smarter than you are. If Allstate is jamming people into sub-standard repairs, then word will get out and people will go to another company. On the other hand, the insurer owning the body shop might actually be a good idea, and benefit everybody. I don't know which way is right, and neither do you, but the market will discover the truth if you JUST BUTT OUT!
