This latest piece of legislation introduced by Rep. Leon Drolet is an excellent idea. While it is not a perfect remedy, it is, in the interim, a great step towards reducing the role of the state in our lives. Changing the license plate tab renewal from a year to two years and reducing the annualized renewal fee by 10 percent will help out all motorists in the state, and will help all motorists save on costs.
As a Libertarian, I support this bill completely. I urge the Republicans and the Democrats to put bi-partisan politics aside and to throw their support for this bill. Let's get this bill passed, and let's urge Governor Granholm to sign it into law.
