We taxpayers, especially ones who pay property taxes, (which I think fund over half of teachers wages) need to send a message to our so called 'leaders' in Lansing. "Were not gonna take it anymore!!!!!!!!!!!".

By the way, remember these 'hard working teachers' are about to go on a LONG(paid for) Summer vacation.

Re: 2009 House Bill 4219 (Allow teachers union to bargain for privatization ban )

Ah yes. another political attempt to strengthen the teachers unions. Screw the taxpayers. Let them lose their homes etc. Giving more muscle to the teachers unions by passing more laws prohibiting any economic choice that may benefit those not on the public payroll is what is needed.

Re: 2009 House Bill 4219 (Allow teachers union to bargain for privatization ban )

This seems like a terrible bill at any time, but in this economy, it's even more irresponsible.

School districts are feeling the budget crunch like every other organization in this state. Why should we allow teachers unions the right to bargain to limit a district's ability to use cheaper, private sources to fill their needs? These aren't teaching positions in question. Let natural supply and demand economics guide a district's choice of providers, not union politics.
